Meet The New Horizon Team

We understand how important it is to parents to know the people who are entrusted with their children's care and education. We are very proud of our staff at Anew Horizon and we're excited to have them introduce themselves.

Robert Allen, B.S., M.Edu - Executive Director

Subsequent to his service in the United States Army, Mr. Allen has spent his professional life dedicated to education. He is one of the visionary founders of Anew Horizon Childcare and Family Development Inc., along with his wife, Sarah. His positions in education include service as a student advisor for a K-12 academy, teacher, coach, alumni director, and mentor. He has served as a Parent Involvement Specialist for Head Start, and serves on the Great Start Collaborative Board, JEYC, and the Greater Bible Way Temple. He has held positions on several non-profit boards, including the Michigan Head Start Association (Parliamentarian). In addition, Mr. Allen is a licensed minister and founder of Anew Horizon Ministries.

A word from the Executive Director:

One important need in the community is the need to reach and teach children at an early age, and provide them with the basic necessities and fundamentals of life. One concern that I have is the need for the father and mother to be present in a child’s life and the importance of a good family and support structure. I believe that by implementing sound programs that focus on the needs of people beginning with early education and literacy, it will enhance family success and advocacy, so that positive leadership may better be established in the community.

Sarah Allen - Program Director

My love for early childhood education was inspired when I was pregnant with my daughter. I realized that I did not know very much about infant development and I wanted to make sure I was educated to be enabled to provide the best mental and physical care for her. I took classes at Wayne County Community College, and then studied at SchoolCraft College. I soon began to realize Early Childhood Education is where I belong. My husband and I began to pursue opening Anew Horizon Childcare &
Family Development, Inc. in 2006. Two years later we opened Anew Horizon, and we have been positively affecting the lives of children and families ever since.

Mrs. Glenda
I am the preschool teacher at Anew Horizon's Robby's Dreamscape Center and have really enjoyed working with children in early childhood education for the past ten years. In addition, I have operated my own home daycare service for five years. I earned an Associates degree in Applied Science and Early Childhood Education the summer of 2009 at Jackson Community College and will be working towards my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education beginning the fall of 2010. I am the proud mom to three sons, ages 24, 22, and 11 years old, and grandmother to three. I love the outdoors and enjoy camping and hiking with my family and friends.

Ms. Christina
I am the Infant Room teacher at Robby's Dreamscape and currently working towards earning my Associates Degree in Early Childhood. I love being with children, feeling fortunate to have this opportunity to spend my days doing what I love most. My goal for the next five to ten years is to earn my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. In my personal life, I have two dogs, a fish, and a boyfriend and I adore them all. I enjoy camping, four wheeling, and most of all NASCAR!

Ms. Ramona
Hello Families! I am a lead teacher in the Two Year Old Room at Robby's Dreamscape. I have worked in early childhood education for seven years and love my job working with children of such a delightful age. In addition to my work, I am currently working towards my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. There is no greater reward than to see children recognize and be able to write their names! When I see how proud they are of their accomplishments, I know I have chosen the right profession.
