Educational Goal
In a world that emphasizes science, math, and language skills, the goal of Anew Horizon is to intricately introduce science, math, and language as a core curriculum, while maintaining childhood basics (abc’s, nursery rhymes, building blocks for motor skills, etc.). Through the use of enjoyable multi-sensory activities that refine motor skills and build all areas of child development, we are committed to instilling good core values to develop well-rounded children for the future.
Anew Horizon Childcare and Family will attain this goal by providing a safe, structured, caring environment for the children in our care, and through working closely with parents and/or guardians. Anew Horizon Childcare and Family Development offers an integrated curriculum to include various components of High Reach Learning, Your Baby Can Read, and the Michigan Merit Curriculum that allows children to experience an array of different learning techniques. Anew Horizon Childcare and Family expectations are to prepare our children for an easier, yet advanced transition to kindergarten and elementary education.
Curricular Approach
The curriculum of Anew Horizon is designed to prepare children for a lifetime of eager learning by promoting playful, active, and authentic learning opportunities. Each child develops continuously from birth at a rate unique to the child, with family and teachers an integral part of the individual child's growth and development. Through positive interactions and relationships, our project-focused curriculum is based on play investigation with innovative learning experiences that are meaningful, relevant, active, and fun. Age and development appropriate activities in a stimulating environment build skills and encourage curiosity and interest.
Anew Horizon's curriculum builds nurturing partnerships with families with materials designed to keep families informed and directly involve the families in the child's education and development. By promoting a strong bond between school and home, we provide the opportunities and tools to expand the child's scope of learning.
